BV Hub is excited to share a unique and immersive STEM opportunity for middle school students across our Partner School districts. On Sunday, December 7, 2025, Clark University’s Polar Science Research Laboratory will host an Arctic VR Experience designed to bring the frozen North to life through cutting-edge virtual reality technology.
The event will take place from 3:00 to 4:30pm inside Clark’s new Media, Arts, Computing, and Design building. Using VR systems developed by Clark University undergraduates, participants will step into the world of Arctic research and learn how climate change is impacting ecosystems, sea ice, and the everyday work of scientists on research vessels. Students will have the rare chance to see what Arctic fieldwork looks and feels like, all within a safe and fully immersive virtual environment.
This hands-on experience aligns with BV Hub’s mission to help students discover real-world career pathways in science, technology, and environmental studies. Opportunities like this inspire curiosity, build early STEM identity, and offer students a window into college-level research happening right here in Central Massachusetts.
The Arctic VR Experience is free and open to all middle school students in BV Hub Partner School districts. Parking details and additional event information will be shared with families after registration.
We encourage educators, administrators, and families to spread the word and support students in taking advantage of this innovative learning opportunity. Experiences like this help young people imagine what is possible and see themselves in future STEM careers.
For questions, families can contact Dr. Karen Frey at Clark University at kfrey@clarku.edu.
Stay tuned for more BV Hub events and opportunities designed to spark exploration, expand horizons, and connect students to the future of work right here in our region.
