About the event
This convening is part of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Connecting Activities initiative, led regionally by Central MassHire and delivered in partnership with Blackstone Valley Hub for Workforce Development, Worcester Public Schools, and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.
We are honored to feature a keynote address from Massachusetts Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education, Pedro Martinez.
Join us for the Central Massachusetts Connecting Activities Convening, bringing together high school educators, administrators, and workforce partners for a focused, collaborative morning.
This regional convening is designed to support schools in strengthening career-connected learning and aligning efforts with workforce needs across Central Massachusetts.
Participants will:
Share updates and expectations for Connecting Activities
Review regional labor market trends and workforce priorities
Strengthen work-based learning practices
Align career development with graduation and postsecondary planning
The convening will also include collaborative breakout sessions and practical tools that can be immediately implemented in schools.
Hosted at BV Hub in Whitinsville, this event provides an opportunity to connect with peers, deepen partnerships, and leave with clear, actionable strategies to support students.
To support planning and ensure sessions are relevant and useful, participants will be asked to complete a brief pre-event survey as part of registration. Your input will directly inform breakout topics and session design.
