Listening Session: Education, Workforce & the Future of Work

Join Massachusetts Secretary of Education Dr. Stephen Zrike Jr. and Congressman Jake Auchincloss for a regional listening session focused on education, workforce development, STEM, career pathways, and strengthening the connection between learning and work.

Secretary Zrike will speak about his plans for the future of education in Massachusetts, while Congressman Auchincloss will discuss his planned introduction of federal legislation addressing cell phone use in high schools.

Secretary Zrike brings extensive experience in public education leadership across Massachusetts. Most recently, he served as Superintendent of Salem Public Schools, where he led academic recovery efforts, expanded student-centered programming, strengthened educator support, and advanced initiatives including full-day pre-kindergarten, dual-language learning, and early college. He previously served as Receiver/Superintendent of Holyoke Public Schools and has held leadership roles in Wakefield, Boston, and Chicago.

Congressman Auchincloss represents Massachusetts’ 4th Congressional District and has been a strong supporter of STEM education, career preparation, workforce training, and stronger connections between education and employment. His work in Congress also includes transportation and infrastructure, clean energy, healthcare, and economic opportunity.

This session is designed as an opportunity for educators, school and community leaders, employers, workforce partners, and other regional stakeholders to share perspectives, priorities, and questions with our speakers.
