On Wednesday, May 13, the Blackstone Valley Hub for Workforce Development proudly hosted the 4th Annual Senior Scoop at Polar Park, bringing together more than 350 graduating seniors from 18 school districts across Central Massachusetts and beyond for a day focused on career exploration, workforce connections, and post-graduation opportunity.
Designed specifically for high school seniors who may not yet have a defined post-secondary plan, Senior Scoop creates direct connections between students and local employers, training providers, and certification programs eager to invest in the next generation of talent.
This year’s event featured 55 businesses, organizations, and training programs representing industries including healthcare, banking, manufacturing, transportation, skilled trades, hospitality, public service, and higher education. Students had the opportunity to explore immediate job openings, learn about certification pathways, ask questions directly to employers, and in many cases begin the hiring process on-site.
The energy throughout the day reflected the growing need for strong regional workforce partnerships and meaningful career pathways for young adults entering the workforce.
A special thank you to UniBank, our Presenting Sponsor, for their continued commitment to workforce development and student opportunity throughout the region. UniBank has been a repeat participant in Senior Scoop and continues to actively recruit graduating seniors for their Teller Training Program, creating valuable entry points into professional careers in banking and financial services.
Senior Scoop would not be possible without the support of our participating schools, employers, community partners, and volunteers who believe in creating accessible opportunities for all students after graduation.
The Blackstone Valley Hub for Workforce Development remains committed to connecting education and industry while helping students discover meaningful next steps toward careers, training, and long-term success.
