Yesterday, BV Hub’s Artie Young and Ashley Bregman had the opportunity to visit Imperial Distributors Inc. in Worcester, MA. Imperial more than 80 years of expertise in distributing non-food products to grocery stores across the region. Imperial is known not only for its supply chain and merchandising solutions but also for its commitment to creating a positive, people-centered workplace culture.

During the visit, our team learned about Imperial’s extensive services for retailers and got a behind-the-scenes look at the thoughtful ways the company invests in its employees. From monthly shop days where staff can purchase products at cost, to on-site food trucks and other employee perks, Imperial’s workplace culture reflects their deep commitment to employee well-being and engagement.
This relationship is especially valuable as BV Hub prepares to launch a new training course, Building Futures: Warehouse Worker Prep, developed in partnership with Ascentria Care Alliance. The 60-hour program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and hands-on experience needed for common entry-level warehouse positions such as team member, order stocker, picker, shipper, and order selector. In addition to technical training, students will be eligible to earn their OSHA-10 General Safety certification, a credential highly valued by employers.
Course topics include:
Intro to Warehouse Work
Workforce Readiness Skills
Basic Computer Literacy
Reading Barcode and Inventory Tools
Math and Measurement for Warehouse Work
Proper Tool Handling (knife cutter, pallet jack)
Safe Lifting Techniques & Pallet Prep
Stock Handling & Shelving
Ergonomics
Order Picking & Packing
Accuracy Standards & Production Logs
Communication & Teamwork
OSHA-10 General Safety
By combining technical skills with workforce readiness and safety training, this course creates a strong foundation for participants to succeed in warehouse roles and grow in their careers.
We’re excited to continue building relationships with local employers like Imperial, businesses that clearly value their people and model the type of workplace culture we want to help future employees thrive in.
A special thank-you to the HR team at Imperial for generously sharing their time and expertise:
Ema Harito – HR Talent Acquisition
Breanna Mason – HR Manager
DJ – HR Business Partner
Dean Messier – VP of Human Resources
And an extra thank-you to Breanna and DJ for providing such an informative and impressive tour of the facilities.
The BV Hub looks forward to continuing this partnership and supporting the development of future warehouse talent in our region.
