What an energizing way to start the day! I just attended the Metrowest STEM Ecosystem Quarterly Meeting which focused on the Clean Energy ICP’s and spotlighted some of the amazing work being done in this sector.
A special hats-off goes to spotlighted guest speaker Bill Chaplin from our BVHub partner school Milford High School. The thoughtful, meaningful experiences they are creating for their students are just fantastic. It is of course no surprise to me, but it’s always invigorating to hear about the opportunities they create for students in terms of career awareness, exploration, and immersion, as well as just being good citizens of this world. Milford really is a shining example of what’s possible when passion meets purpose.
In terms of what really stood out for me today (and why I was inspired to write a blog post about this meeting) was the collaborative energy. So many organizations coming together, eager to partner, share, innovate. That collective “We’ve got this” vibe is what makes a difference from providing a “What can I do?” opportunity to a “Look what I’m doing” one.
At BVHub, our values are rooted in bridge-building: connecting education to real-life scenarios, creating programs that aren’t just about classroom theory but about career realities.
And with MassCEC reporting statistics in their 2024 Clean Energy Industry Report such as a 5% increase in clean energy jobs since 2023, compared to a 1% increase in overall jobs in MA, making sure we are expanding opportunities for future clean energy employees seems vital to not only our students, but also to our local economy.
I left today feeling not just hopeful but ambitious. We’re not just watching the future happen; we’re helping to power it. (pun absolutely intended) ;)
Here’s to keeping that spark alive, building bridges from classroom to career, and lighting the path for our students to shine.

P.S. Thank you to Dr. Irene Porro and Laura Bilazarian Purutyan from the Christa McAuliffe Center for making sure we didn’t miss it. You were right - it was inspiring and invigorating!
