Uxbridge High School 2026 Spring Internship Fair

On Thursday, May 7th, Uxbridge High School hosted another successful Spring Internship Fair. Nearly 200 juniors and seniors displayed tables highlighting internship work and independent project-led work. Our BV Hub staff was honored to be invited to this event along with several notable industry guests such as ImBlaze, Big Picture Learning, and Massachusetts State Representative, Michael J. Soter. As always the "Spartans" spoke confidently and sounded eager to pursue next steps in the workforce.

Projects that caught our attention included Allison Feming's Design Capstone. Fleming connected with 2 separate employers for this capstone, Workplace Resource and Uxbridge Historical Society. Through these contacts she received the opportunity to redesign a web page and used her other connections to develop a fresh portfolio of her own designs. She is heading to Bemidji State University to pursue their Exhibit and Experience Design Program.

We also appreciated hearing about network cables and technical support work, from the team who interned directly with the Uxbridge High School's IT department, along with the enthusiastic student golfer who made a lot headway creating his own invention "The Golf Caddy" to hold golf balls and tees all in one place.

At the Fair, BV Hub staff enjoyed checking in with Youthworks students' Stephen Leach, Hailee Lussier, and Enzo Pimentel. These students held spring internships funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, and administered by the Commonwealth Corporation. Leach & Lussier worked with empolyers at Uxbridge High School, while Pimentel worked at the Milford District Courthouse.

Following the morning Internship Fair, Uxbridge High School hosted a "Real-World Convening" in collaboration with ImBlaze and Big Picture Learning. To kick things off, Principal Mike Rubin led a panel discussion with 3 employers and 3 Uxbridge High interns along with UHS Dean of Students, David Moura. Roughly 50 folks, in addition to 25 students attended the discussion. We were happy to see familiar faces from Blackstone-Millville Regional High School and Hopedale High School.

The event continued on to breakout sessions and more! There was a great energy to the entire day with educators and students passionate about collaborating to build an even stronger workforce development foundation for the future.
